Data synchronization job is in status 'New' and not processing in EPM Pulse on-premises

In this article, we will review the case when the data synchronization job is in status 'New' and not processing in EPM Pulse on-premises.

Cause: The data synchronization job changes the status from 'New' to 'In Progress' quite fast if everything works as expected. If the status is not changed and remains 'New' for a long time, it is required to start troubleshooting.

Solution:

Step 1: Open the EPM Pulse Global Administration page => Jobs tab and refresh the page.

There is a button to Enable/Disable Job Processing for all new jobs. If you see the 'Disable Job Processing' button, it means that the job processing is enabled. There is no need to take any additional actions.

If you see the 'Enable Job Processing' button, it means that the job processing is now disabled. Click on the button to enable the job processing for new jobs.

Step 2: Please perform the second step only if the first one did not solve the issue.

Check that the EPM Pulse Job Processor service is launched on the virtual machines where EPM Pulse on-premises is installed.

For this, open the Task Manager => Services on the machine where EPM Pulse on-premises is installed. Check that the Job Processor service is running (Name = 'EPMPulseJobProcessor', DisplayName = 'EPM Pulse Job Processor').

If the service is running, right-click on it and select Restart. If the service is stopped, right-click on it and select Start.
