Projects were removed from Project Online, why are they still in the list of Protected in G.A. Suite?

In this article, we will review the case when Projects were removed from Project Online but still appear in the list of Protected in the G.A. Suite Data Protection page. 

Problem:
Projects were removed from Project Online, but they are still listed as "Protected" in the G.A. Suite. Why does this happen?

Answer:
This behavior highlights one of G.A. Suite's core functionalities: ensuring comprehensive and secure backup of your Project Online data. When a project is deleted from Project Online (PWA), it is not automatically removed from G.A. Suite backups. This intentional design allows users to restore deleted projects if needed, ensuring no data is lost due to accidental deletions from Project Online. 

Why it happens:

  • Backup integrity: The deletion of a project from Project Online doesn't affect its backup in G.A. Suite. This ensures that data remains intact and recoverable for restoration purposes. 
  • User control: G.A. Suite empowers users to manage their backups independently of the changes in Project Online. Users decide whether a project should remain in the backup archives or be permanently removed. Backups remain secure and accessible unless explicitly deleted by the user.

What to do if you want to remove the Project from backups:
