After resetting the password for the G.A. Suite service account, you'll need to update the stored credentials on the Worker Server to ensure all services continue to operate correctly.
You can update the credentials either manually or by running the G.A. Suite installer. Both methods are described below.
Option 1: Manually Update the Service Account Credentials
Update Windows Services:
- Open Services.
- Locate each service whose name begins with G.A.S.
- Right-click the service and select Properties.
- Open the Log On tab.
- Update the credentials.
- Click Apply.
- Right-click the service and select Restart.
- Repeat these steps for all G.A.S services.
Update the Task Scheduler:
- Open the Task Scheduler.
- Locate the 'GAS Start modules' task.
- Right-click the task and select Properties.
- On the General tab, under Security options, click 'Change User or Group'.
- Update the service account credentials and save the changes.
Update the IIS Application Pools:
- Open 'Application Pools' in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Right-click the G.A. Suite application pool and select Advanced Settings.
- Under the Process Model section, click the ellipsis button next to Identity.
- Click the Set button next to the 'Custom account'.
- Enter the updated service account credentials and click OK.
- Right-click the G.A. Suite application pool and select Stop.
- Once stopped, right-click it again and select Start.
Option 2: Update Credentials Using the G.A. Suite Installer
As an alternative, you can run the G.A. Suite installer on the Worker Server and update only the service account credentials during installation. Detailed instructions are available in the FluentPro Help Center: How to update G.A. Suite On-Premises (Step 9.3).
Proceed through the installer without making any changes. Click Next when prompted with the message 'Click Next to proceed with the current version'.
On the 'Modules Settings' page (Step 9.3 from the article), update the service account credentials.
Please note: Do not update the installer version. If the installer is updated, you will no longer be able to bypass downloading G.A. Suite updates by simply clicking "Next". In such a case, G.A. Suite would need to be updated on every VM where it is installed. Please note that any version discrepancy of G.A. Suite across VMs may result in disruption to its operations.
Update AutoLogOn
Regardless of which method you use to update the service account credentials, you must also update the AutoLogOn configuration.
- Run autologon.exe.
- Enter the updated service account credentials.
- Click Enable to save the new credentials.
AutoLogOn can be downloaded from: Autologon - Sysinternals | Microsoft Learn.
